DAKOTA CITY, Neb. -- Northeast Nebraska authorities have released details on a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old Dakota County girl.
On Thursday at approximately 3:42 p.m., the Dakota County Sheriff's Office was called to a crash on Highway 35 near Dakota City.
According to Dakota County Sheriff Chris Kleinberg, the accident was a one-vehicle rollover crash.
Kleinberg's office said the driver and sole occupant, a 17-year-old girl from rural Dakota City, was killed in the crash.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol investigated the scene and found that debris on the highway caused the accident.
The Dakota City Fire Department raised funds at its annual breakfast for the teenager's family.
