NORFOLK, Neb. -- The city of Norfolk has implemented a new "No Parking Zone" inside the city.

On Monday, the city of Norfolk unanimously passed an ordinance to restrict parking along Ferguson Drive and E Bluff Ave.

According to the ordinance, parking will be restricted on the west and south sides of Ferguson Drive - from the intersection of E Bluff Ave. and Ferguson Drive, going north and west around the curve 360 feet to where Ferguson Drive meets and transitions into E Pasewalk Ave.

The ordinance was proposed after the council received traffic complaints from residents who said they couldn't see approaching vehicles.

Residents also said the area was unsafe for approaching drivers since vehicles were parked on both sides of the road.

Norfolk Police monitored the area and found the area to have vision obstruction.

The city said residents in the surrounding area were contacted about the restriction and were in favor, except for one household which uses the area for parking many of their vehicles.

The restriction will go into effect immediately.
