COLUMBUS, Neb. — The All of Us Research Program stopped at the East Central District Health Department to gather information to help healthcare accessibility.

With a goal to reach one million people from all backgrounds, the van has been visiting communities across the country.

The aim of the program is to speed up health research and medical breakthroughs by collecting health information from citizens. The van arrived in Columbus on July 3 and stayed until July 7.

People were able to share health and lifestyle information, such as where they live or what they do, and help the program.

Organizers said the program is set to find an alternative to the one-size-fits-all health care plans. In addition, organizers said the program looks to help set up individual plans for people and fit what they need.

With how diverse the population is, workers for the program were able to meet with citizens in the area and learn about residents.

According to the All of Us Research Program website, the program is expected to last at least 10 years and is over halfway to their sign-up goal.
