NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk Police said they were called to a residence for a disturbance.

Officials said in the 800 block on North 8th Street around 7:40 p.m., they had contact with a small group of individuals.

Authorities said one of the individuals, 34-year-old, Brenda K. Sixtos, was out of control and was refusing to leave. Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer said Sixtos was pushing people and causing a loud disturbance.

NPD said a male victim showed them injuries that he sustained from Sixtos assaulting him. He was holding her arms to secure her when officers arrived, Bauer said.

Officers said that Sixtos was homeless and intoxicated, speaking incoherently.

According to authorities, officers took Sixtos into custody. At the jail she refused to cooperate and step out of the car.

Norfolk Police said officers had to remove her from the car and into the jail.

Sixtos was arrested for third-degree assault, second-degree criminal trespassing, disturbing the peace and obstructing a peace officer. She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
