Takahashi claims Nebraska Women's Amateur over hard-charging Karmazin
FREMONT, Neb. -- After falling out of the lead on day two of the Nebraska Women's Amateur Championship, Miu Takahashi found herself back at the top of the leaderboard at the end of Thursday's final round.
The Husker golfer shot a 3-over 74 in the final round, finishing 12-over for the tournament, finishing 12-over for the tournament.
She had to wait a day to claim the crown due to a weather delay at Fremont Golf Club.
It's the first time a Japan native has won the Nebraska Women's Amateur Championship.
Takahashi finished one shot better than Julia Karmazin, who had the top junior score. Karmazin also had the top final day score. She claimed the Nebraska Girls' Junior Amateur Championship just last month.
Katie Ruge, who entered the final day as the solo leader, finished tied for third with Aurora's Danica Badura.
