NORFOLK, Neb. — One motorcyclist was sent to the hospital after a crash late Saturday morning outside of Norfolk.

Norfolk Rescue received the initial call around 11:40 a.m. for a two vehicle accident.

According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, at the intersection of Crown Road and Highway 24, a 73-year-old Norfolk man was struck from behind by a pickup while trying to make a left hand turn.

The motorcyclist was reportedly thrown from the vehicle and ended up on the south shoulder of the road.

Unger said motorcyclist was transported to the hospital by E.M.S. with non-life threatening injuries and the use of a helmet helped protect the man from further injuries as his head hit the pavement.

The pickup driver did not have any injuries.
