NORFOLK, Neb. -- Two men were arrested for third-degree domestic assault in Norfolk on Saturday.
The Norfolk Police Division said they first incident happened around 9:45 a.m., when they were called to S Third St. for an assault.
When officers spoke with the woman, they said she had multiple bruises around her lips, and a bruise on her thigh.
NPD also reported that her child had a lump on his head about the size of a quarter.
The woman reported that she and 30-year-old Jonathan Pilliza Suarez of Norfolk were in an argument.
NPD said the woman told them the argument ended with Pilliza Suarez hitting her in the face and head several times.
As she was leaving the room, the woman reportedly told police said Pilliza Suarez hit the child in the head and broke a school computer.
Police said that Pilliza Suarez was questioned about the incident, and was subsequently arrested for third-degree domestic assault and child abuse.
Pilliza Suarez was also cited for criminal mischief for the damage of the computer.
Later Saturday around 6:30 p.m., NPD said they got a call for a woman in the lobby of a business on S 13th St. who said she had been assaulted and needed a rescue unit.
Both Norfolk Rescue and NPD responded to the call.
NPD said the woman told officers that she had been assaulted and strangled several times the night before, to the point where she became unconscious.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Jayson Blakely of Sioux City.
The woman reportedly continued and described that, earlier Saturday, Blakely again choked her and slammed her head against the wall.
It was also reported that Blakely was also preventing her from leaving the room.
NPD said the woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers said they found Blakely, and asked him about the assaults.
At the end of the investigation, NPD arrested Blakely for assault by strangulation, third-degree assault, first-degree false imprisonment, and for a protection order violation as the victim currently has a protection order against him.
Both men were housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
