NEBRASKA -- One day after President Biden announced America's unwavering support for Israel,
U.S. Congressman Mike Flood echoed the same sentiments in a YouTube video:

"Israel has rightly promised they will do everything necessary to eliminate the people who committed these heinous acts of terrorism," Flood said. "As Israel responds, America not only stands with the country, but also with Jewish people at home and around the world. America must and will step up as Israel fights back. As a Member of Congress, I will work to ensure our country does everything that is needed to support the Israeli government as they root out the sources of this terrorism."

Other Nebraska lawmakers expressed support for Israel including Senator Pete Rickets who posted:

"Israel has every right to defend itself from this attack on its sovereignty. Susanne & I pray for the innocent lives taken & those in harm’s way."

Tuesday afternoon, the White House said any U.S. lawmakers calling for a ceasefire and not supporting Israel are “wrong” and “disgraceful.”

Hours later, here's what the president said:

"Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination. Its stated purpose is the annihilation of the State of Israel and the murder of Jewish people. They use Palestinian civilians as human shields. "
