NORFOLK, Neb. -- Heartland of America's band Raptor is on a concert tour bringing musical favorites to four towns in northeast Nebraska.

With variety in their song selection from American favorites with varying genres all the way from Queen to Stevie Wonder, leaving an impression on the members who are in attendance as they received applauses after each and every song.

The band is stationed at an Air Force base in the state using the tour as a way to act on its mission of community relations type concerts.

Master Sgt. Rebecca Wischmann said that they're able to connect the Air Force to the community.

"We have the distinct honor to be the face of the Air Force and go out and talk about all the important things that are being done and all of the things that are being accomplished by their United States Air Force,” Wischmann said.

The first stop on the tour was the Norfolk Veterans Home on Thursday, which was special as they were able to thank those who served in person.

"This was one of the most important ones to us because we get to come and play for the folks who have served and in our concerts for the communities, we'll be highlighting those folks at the end of the concert,” Wischmann said.

The tour followed up at Wayne State College on Friday and did not disappoint.

"I think they're great, awesome music,” said Vicki Lyons, in attendance.

Wischmann said the best part of the tour is hearing stories from veterans and possibly being the faces young people see, leading them to consider joining the Air Force themselves.

The band will finish its last two dates in Columbus on Saturday and West Point on Monday.
