Knights, Warriors, Mustangs dominate to make semi-finals
NORTHEAST NEBRASKA -- High school football playoffs continued as teams across the state looked to punch their ticket to the semi-finals of the playoffs.
Norfolk Catholic's dominant regular and post-season run continued as they welcomed Kearney Catholic for a northeast versus central Nebraska showdown.
Carter Janssen's four rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns helped the Knights defeat the Stars 55-7 for a spot in the semi-finals in class C-2.
The Knights will face Fillmore Central at home as both teams look to end their seasons at Memorial Stadium.
Two teams in northeast Nebraska collided in Class D-1 as Crofton and Elkhorn Valley met in Tilden to be one of the four teams moving on.
A big second half from Crofton propelled the three-seeded Warriors to a 64-22 win over the Falcons.
After an upset of North Platte St. Patrick's, Exeter-Milligan/Friend will make the nearly three hour drive to face the Warriors.
It was Stanton's offensive line of Gatlin Davidson, Garrett Hansen, and Ren Brown setting the tempo, helping the Mustangs rack up 496 yards rushing.
The Mustangs have seen nothing but one-sided victories this season. Their average margin of victory in their eleven wins this season has been 34 points.
Stanton advances to their second straight semi-final, where they'll face 5th-seeded Sandy Creek in Fairfield.
