NORFOLK, Neb. --"It's always an exciting moment to make it that far,” said Women’s Head Coach Chad Miller.

Northeast Community College men's and women's soccer teams have both made it to the post season national tournament.

"Rising tides floats all ships,” said Men’s Head Coach Adam Potter.

The women's team is looking forward to facing tough competition at nationals after facing a tough schedule this season.

"We've been that way all year, we wanted to play the best competition all year long and we have and now here we are going to the national tournament and we're playing some of the best teams there,” Miller said.

On the other hand, the men's team is looking forward to changing their fate from last year.

"Just the guys have had that mindset after losing last year at the national tournament of we want to put ourselves in position to win the national tournament,” Potter said.

Both teams are ready to represent the region as they have received much support from the community this year, more than ever.

"The town and the city has kind of noticed and taken notice to the talent that men's soccer has brought, that women's soccer has brought here,” Miller said.

With only a few schools ever having both their soccer teams at nationals within the last two years, Northeast soccer is pushing each other to come out on top.

"I feel like our programs are really supporting one another and pushing each other and wanting the best out of each other's programs to be at the highest possible stage right,” Potter said.

Northeast men's and women's soccer will play in Arizona at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II championship tournaments starting Nov. 12.

"It's incredible to look back and just see how much heart and how much determination they play with,” Miller said.

The men's team sits at No. 1 and the women's team at No. 4 across the nation.
