The Dr. Gerald Deas Achievement Foundation, in collaboration with the Queens Alumni (NY) chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc., is proud to announce the upcoming charity fashion show event, Kouturé, taking place on February 10, 2024, at the iconic LAVAN MIDTOWN event venue in the heart of Midtown New York.

Kouturé is an exciting platform developed by the Dr. Gerald W. Deas Achievement Foundation & Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. (KA?) with a mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the fashion industry. As an organization deeply rooted in community service, Kappa Alpha Psi has recognized the need to bridge the diversity gap in the fashion world and provide a platform for emerging designers from diverse backgrounds.

The primary goal of Kouturé is twofold. Firstly, it aims to establish a new platform that benefits qualified diverse designers, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain exposure in the industry. Secondly, Kouturé seeks to leverage its location in New York City to introduce innovative programming that will enrich and empower the local community.

One of the key initiatives that will receive support from this event is the Kappa League, established in 1969. The Kappa League stands as one of the oldest and largest mentoring programs for Black males in the United States. By supporting Kouturé, attendees will not only be contributing to the advancement of diversity in fashion but also making a positive impact on the lives of young Black males through the Kappa League.

Kouturé is dedicated to challenging the status quo and redefining fashion standards. By embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion, we aim to reshape the fashion industry into a more inclusive and representative space. Through our fashion show and strategic partnerships, we will showcase the beauty and creativity of designers from all walks of life, inspiring confidence and empowering individuals to express their unique styles.

Join us on February 10, 2024, at LAVAN MIDTOWN, an iconic and unique event venue located in the heart of Midtown New York, as we celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the fashion industry. Together, we can create a more inclusive and representative future for fashion.
