NORFOLK, Neb. -- A water line bursting was the cause of an emergency response from the Norfolk Fire Division.

Firefighters responded to an alarm activation at Legacy Bend apartments. Water from the walls and the ceiling was spilling out onto the floor of the apartment complex, leaving the entire bottom floor flooded.

NFD told News Channel Nebraska that it was due to the cold temperatures causing the line to freeze up, and then proceeding to burst.

People temporarily vacated the premises as the fire department got to work to patch the water line.

Fire crews patched the line shortly under 15 minutes and began cleanup. Costs in water damage has not yet been estimated.

No injuries were reported.
