Otoe County woman taken to hospital following accident in Stanton County

PILGER, Neb. -- Northeast Nebraska authorities responded to an accident that happened on Sunday due to poor road conditions.
The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said that Sunday afternoon they responded to and investigated a single-vehicle accident that sent a 40-year-old Otoe County woman to the hospital for treatment of a possible head injury.
It was reported that the accident happened when the SUV was heading west and encountered poor road conditions about 1.5 miles west of Pilger on Highway 275.
The vehicle then crossed the westbound lane and ended up in a field.
Pilger and Wisner Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
SCSO said that during this time two other vehicles left the highway in the area due to the road conditions, as well as high winds that cause a ground blizzard on the road making for poor visibility.
The Sheriff's Office said that later in the day several other vehicle also lost control on the highway in the same area and ended up leaving the road as well.
