LINCOLN - You couldn't have scripted a better postseason preparation battle between two of the Class A greats.

Lincoln Southwest High School was full of excitement, as the #2 Silverhawks looked to turn away the #3 Navigators from coming onto their home court and leaving with a victory.

These two teams met earlier this season, with the Silverhawks winning in dramatic fashion after Kennadi Williams drilled a buzzer beating three-pointer in overtime to win.

This match started very differently, as the Navigators got hot early, turning defense into offense.

Lincoln North Star found early success from Sarah Gatwech, Kendall Anderson and Ani Leu. The three of them helped propel the 'Gators into a lead 13-point lead late in the second quarter.

The Silverhawks first field-goal of the game came from Kennadi Williams with under 1:15 on the second quarter clock.

Down by 8 at halftime, Lincoln Southwest rallied back in the third quarter.

The most pivotal play of the game was an "and one" from Kennadi Williams off of a Sarah Gatwech foul. Gatwech also picked up a technical, resulting in four-made free throws from Williams, plus the possession of the ball.

Thats when Kallen Stauffer hit a three pointer to bring the game within two points.

On the next possession, Stauffer tied the game with a jumper and after a defensive stop, Eleanor Griffin gave the Silverhawks their first lead in the fourth quarter 27-24.

Lincoln Southwest ran away with the game from that point, pulling out a 43-35 victory.

Free throws were instrumental for Lincoln Southwest, as the Silverhawks knocked down 22-30 shots from the charity stripe.

Kennadi Williams led the way with 21 points in the win, followed by great performances by Eleanor Griffin and Kallen Stauffer, scoring 6 each.

In the defeat, Lincoln North Star was led by Sarah Gatwech with 13 points. Ani Leu tacked on 11 points.

The Silverhawks improve to 17-3, while the 'Gators fall to 16-4.
