SYRACUSE, NE - Syracuse split a home doubleheader with Conestoga on Friday with each team grabbing a double-digit win.

The Syracuse ladies defended their homecourt with a 59-25 romp in the opener. The Rockets led the Cougars 24-2 after the opening quarter and coasted from there. Syracuse got 18 points from Kadyn Sisco & twelve from Jayden Meyer, while Conestoga had a pair of players reach eight points - Davida Garrett & Grace Rodis. Syracuse moved up to 13-8 on the season, while Conestoga stumbled to 3-18.

For the guys, the Cougars gradually pulled away for a 48-33 win over the Rockets. Conestoga held just a seven-point halftime advantage, but they finished strong with a 13-6 fourth quarter. The long-range game got it done for the Cougars, who actually hit more buckets from behind the arc than inside it by draining ten 3-pointers. Six of those treys were buried by Noah Simones, who finished with a game-high 20 points. Andy Lamourex finished with eleven, and Owen Trofholz wound up with ten. Syracuse was led by the ten points of Maxwell Parde. The Rockets are now 9-11 this season, and Conestoga sits at 17-3.
