WYNOT - The Blue Devils have done it again.

For the second straight season, Wynot wins the Class D2-6 Subdistrict and secures a bid to another District Final. And just like last season, the Blue Devils had to overcome the Humphrey-St Francis Flyers.

Wynot was the host of the Subdistrict, boasting an 18-2 record, while Humphrey-St Francis entered the game with a 14-8 record and winners of 8 of their last 9 games.

Both teams played earlier this season as well, with Wynot winning by 14 points.

And just like last time, Wynot took the early lead and didn't let go.

The Blue Devils started the game on a 7-0, getting multiple players involved and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

Humphrey-St Francis has early struggles with turnovers and offensive success.

Wynot led 12-3 at the end of the first quarter and grew the lead to 28-9 at halftime.

The Flyer's tried to feed the ball to Isabelle Preister, who ended the game with 14 points, but otherwise the offense wasn't clicking. A total of 29 turnovers was the achilles heel Humphrey-St Francis.

Wynot was finding buckets inside with Kenna Oligmueller and Kayla Pinkleman - and scoring outside, hitting two deep shots each with Allison Wieseler, Myrah Sudbeck and Courtney Pinkleman.

The Blue Devils secured the 45-25 victory over the Flyers, marking the second straight victory over HSF in the Subdistrict Final.

In the win, Wieseler and Sudbeck both scored 10 points, while Oligmueller added 8.

In the loss, Preister led all scorers on the floor with 14 points for Humphrey-St Francis.

Both the Blue Devils and the Flyers have a rich history of meeting in the postseason. While Wynot has already secured their bid to the District Final, the season may not be finished for HSF, depending on power points and postseason positioning.

District Final's will be taking place next week.
