LINCOLN, Neb. -- Norris countered Bennington’s upset bid with an overtime win over the Badgers, 61-56, to book their ticket to the state semifinals.

The game was highly contested with no team having a lead larger than five points the entire game. Norris was led by junior Barret Boesiger with 15 points and sophomore Chris Garner with 12 points.

Freshman Evan Greenfield hit two clutch free throws to put the Titans up by three at the end of regulation along with his eight points. It was seven points from junior Joshua Bornschlegl and sophomore Macoy Folkerts, both hitting clutch three point shots late in regulation.

Bennington was led by junior Austin Kaiser who finished with 25 points and junior Hudson Neuverth, despite fouling out late in the fourth quarter, had 10 points. It was the defense of Bennington who kept the Badgers in the game as they forced 12 Norris turnovers.

Bennington finishes the season 17-9 with another loss in the state tournament that puts them short of the title game. Norris continues its incredible season with a young lineup and improves to 23-2.

Norris will play Friday at 3:15 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena in the semifinals against Scottsbluff, who beat Omaha Roncalli 58-51.
