KEARNEY, Neb. — The Nebraska volleyball spring match is moving to a different venue in Kearney in an attempt to accommodate more fans.

The Huskers announced last week that the Big Red would play Denver University at Kearney High School on Saturday, May 4. NU announced Tuesday that the game will instead be played at the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Health and Sports Center. The game start time remains 2:00 p.m.

The change allows about 2,000 more fans to attend the spring match. Kearney High’s gym holds about 3,000 and the Health and Sports Center holds 5,000. According to a news release, Kearney Public Schools will remain the primary host and will work in partnership with Nebraska Athletics, UNK and the Kearney Visitors Bureau.

Tickets will still go on sale to the public Tuesday, April 2 at 10 a.m., at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. Tickets for the match are $12 for upper-bowl bleacher seats and $25 for lower-bowl chairback seats. All seats are general admission. Tickets must be purchased in person, with cash only, by someone at least 16 years old. A maximum of four tickets are available per person. Lost tickets will not be replaced. Tickets will not be available through the Nebraska, KHS or UNK athletic offices.

Doors to the match will open at 12:30 p.m. The Huskers will sign autographs following the match.
