CHAPPELL -- At the April 1 Chappell City Council meeting, the ACE Project of the year award was presented to the City Council and some of the City Workers who helped with the project.

This award was made possible in part from the ACE, Public Alliance for Community Energy, revenue return program which helped Chappell make Thompson Park safer and more accessible. The old rubber ground cover had become a tripping hazard and was replaced. The park also got some new amenities such as benches, trash cans and sidewalk around the perimeter that meets ADA standards.
