NORFOLK, Neb. -- A train collided with a vehicle Thursday morning following a two-vehicle accident in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Police Division said the incident began around 8:13 a.m. when two vehicles were involved in a minor accident near Seventh St. and Madison Ave.

Both vehicles pulled off the roadway near the railroad tracks to exchange information.

While this was happening a train began to travel southbound on the tracks.

Police said one of the drivers was unable to find their keys in time and was unable to get their parked car off of the tracks before the train collided with it.

This pushed the vehicle into the other parked car and caused the train to stop.

Norfolk Police said no one was in the vehicles at the time of the incident and no one was injured.

The train blocked traffic along Madison, Norfolk, and Braasch Avenues until 8:51 a.m.
