BATTLE CREEK, Neb. -- On Tuesday the Madison County commissioners approved a zoning change for the Farmers Pride Co-OP in Battle Creek.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, Bryan Daum the Propane and Transportation manager for the Battle Creek location, said they were requesting a zoning change for their fuel station.

Daum said after they had completed the project to build the unmanned station, they had begun looking into placing a price advertisement sign for their fuel.

However, they learned they couldn't place one due to their current zoning regulations, requiring the change.

According to Daum, all the surrounding residences had been notified about the zone change request and didn't expect lights to cause issues due to the fuel station being isolated along Highway 121.

With no one speaking out against the zone change on Tuesday, the Madison County commissioners approved the zone change from "Intensive Agricultural District" to be changed to "Highway Services District" in a 3-0 vote.
