NORFOLK, Neb. — No cause has been determined in a house fire in Norfolk on Wednesday afternoon.

Norfolk Fire Division said the call came in at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Crews responded to 2900 block of Cambridge Way for reported smoke in the basement.

When they arrived, firefighters saw flames and smoke coming from inside and outside of the home.

It took crews 10 minutes to locate and extinguish the fire.

The property is valued at $500,000 and is estimated to have sustained $100,000 worth of damage to the structure and $20,000 to its contents.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

Norfolk Fire Division was assisted by Norfolk Police, Black Hills Energy, Nebraska Public Power District, Hadar Fire, and Battle Creek Fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
