Coffee & cocktail business plans to open in downtown Valentine
VALENTINE, Neb. - A new coffee and cocktail spot could soon be coming to downtown Valentine. Gritty Coffee Co. is set to open in the former Boutique 66 location on Main Street, with owner Kylee Hesseltine hoping to have the coffee side of the business up and running around Halloween.
“I want to let people start getting their fix because I know Janine’s has been swamped since the other coffee shop in town closed,” said Hesseltine.
Gritty Coffee Co. will serve coffee from Normal Roasting Company and Coffee Lab in Burwell, with a menu featuring cappuccinos, lattes, Americanos, vanilla chai lattes, and smoothies.
“You can expect a great quality cup of coffee,” said Hesseltine.
As for the cocktail side, Hesseltine is awaiting approval for a liquor license but plans to offer morning drinks like bloody marys, mimosas, and espresso martinis once approved.
“We did not want to be another business on Main Street that wasn’t adding to the interests and needs of the community,” said Hesseltine. “We want this to be a gathering place for locals and tourists. We want to add a little bit of recreation to our downtown.”
Hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
