Dan Osborn opens Canvass Operation in Norfolk
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Dan Osborn and his campaign celebrated the opening of their new Canvass Operation in downtown Norfolk on Thursday evening.
Supporters rallied downtown for the opportunity to meet Osborn as well as ask questions about a variety of topics.
Norfolk has been a red-voting community since 2013.
Running as an independent, Osborn embraces his different ideas, even if, to some, they are unpopular.
"We're definitely being different and I think that is the way we fix Washington DC," Osborn said. "We elect the right people that just want to do right by the people and I'm not going to be bought and sold. That is who I am, that's what you're going to get from me versus Senator Fischer."
Fischer has won the last two elections with the Republican Party.
The odds may be against Osborn, but he says he's ready.
"You know, were going to have to weather the storm," Osborn said. "I think if the election were held right now, I think we have an advantage. I have done 170 publicly advertised events. We continue to do them and getting out there and talking to voters."
You can cast your vote come Election Day on Nov. 5.
