Knights Take First Big Step Toward Three-peat

NORFOLK - Norfolk Catholic looked every bit the two-time defending state champs they are with a 33-8 drubbing of the Ord Chanticleers Friday night.
The Knights' special teams drew first blood as the snap went over the Ord punter's head and out the end zone for a 2-0 Catholic lead. Following the free kick, Trevin Sukup polished off the Knights' drive with a 1-yard scoring plunge. Sukup added another score just before the break for a 16-0 halftime advantage.
Norfolk Catholic kept it rolling in the 2nd half as Max Hammond found the end zone on a 5-yard scoring scamper and split the uprights with a 27-yard field goal. QB Callen Marshall hit Hayden Kelley from 19 yards out to complete the scoring. Ord QB Jordan Williams ran a 1-yard TD sneak to avert the shutout.
Ord's season ends at 4-6. Norfolk Catholic (10-0) hosts Raymond Central in the 2nd round next week.
