Crash involving semi truck and mail carrier, one driver airlifted to Omaha
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Just after 2:30 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle injury accident on Highway 275, west of South Eastwood.
“A van and semi truck was involved, the van rolled off the highway," Sheriff Mike Unger said. "The driver driving the van was ejected from the van and airlifted by LifeNet to UNMC in Omaha. The semi driver declined medical treatment on the scene and we are still trying to sort out what exactly happened.”
Both vehicles were traveling east bound. The U.S. Postal Office is also involved due to the van being a contract rural mail carrier, and mail needing to be recovered from the scene.
