NORFOLK, Neb. -- On Thursday afternoon the City of Norfolk notified the public that the Johnson Park ice rink will temporarily close this weekend.

The City said that due to unseasonably warm weather, the rink will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

“Maintaining safe and quality ice conditions is our top priority,” said PJ Evans, Assistant Director Assistant Director of Recreation. “We appreciate the community’s understanding as we work to ensure the rink is ready for optimal use when weather conditions improve.”

The City said the Parks and Recreation team will resume the operation of the ice rink on Monday.
