CHEYENNE - The Torrington boys wrestling team claimed first place at the Charlie Lake Boys Wrestling Duals in Cheyenne Friday with a 54-28 victory over Laramie. Torrington’s Brendan Woodard (165 pounds) and Skylen Teague (132 pounds) delivered critical wins to help secure the title.

Sidney battled to finish 7th, highlighted by unbeaten runs from Zech Roggasch (175 pounds), Patrick McCartney (190 pounds) and Kaine Hill. Sidney closed out the tournament with a 45-32 victory over Burns/Pine Bluffs.

Burns/Pine Bluffs finished 8th, with standout efforts from Cooper Sanchez (150 pounds) and Riggin Cathcart (138 pounds).

Ogallala rounded out the group with a 9th-place finish, led by Tai Le (132 pounds) and Kolby Nowak (190 pounds).

In the girls’ competition, Sidney’s Jadyn Lee captured gold at 120 pounds, pinning Gering’s Autumn Hahn in just 39 seconds. Saphira Whitley finished 4th at 170 pounds and Leeann Mulleavey claim silver at 235 pounds. Mulleavey fell to Joci Davis of Cheyenne East in the championship. The Lady Raiders finished 10th as a team. 

Gering’s Rylee Luce dominated the 110-pound bracket with a first-place finish, while teammate Meredith Zlomke claimed gold at 135 pounds, and the Bulldogs wrestled to a runner-up finish. Freshman Rileigh Dane finished at 3rd-place at 100 pounds, and Aaliyah Chavez added another podium for Gering, taking 3rd at 125 pounds.

Burns/Pine Bluffs' Nichole Sumare (145 pounds) and Kinzley Nusbaum (155 pounds) both earned championships. Kaitlyn Schnell finished 3rd at 130 pounds and Jesselee Jackson took 4th at 190 pounds. Burns/Pine Bluffs was 4th in the team standings. 

Scottsbluff’s Jazmyn Garcia claimed gold at 190 pounds, pinning her opponent in just 40 seconds. Marcela Colin earned 3rd at 170 pounds and Victoria Burns rounded out the Bearcats' placers with a 4th-place finish at 235 pounds. Scottsbluff finished 8th. 

Kimball freshman Barbara Earley placed 4th at 105 pounds and Noley Brower secured 3rd at 235 pounds.
