$6 million budget adds much needed space to Norfolk Middle School
NORFOLK, Neb. -- If you have driven past the Norfolk Middle School and wondered, what’s with all the construction? Well, their exciting renovations costing over $6 million is to add a lot more space for students.
The middle school's new addition will house a secured entrance and add an extra level of security for students and staff. To avoid families maneuvering through the administration space, there will be an extended space for them to enter the admin area and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Part of the existing area where the administration is located, they will be renovating it into five additional class rooms. They will also renovate the bathrooms.
Another big need was for their music department - between the band, and orchestra, the middle school has about 232 students which made playing an instrument very crowed at times.
