School closings allow students an opportunity to enjoy a day of sledding
NORFOLK, Neb. -- It was finally time to bundle up as the snow fell down, roads become slick, and tires spun uncontrollably in Northeast Nebraska. After multiple schools closed, several kids traveled to Skyview Lake and enjoyed a day of sledding on the hills with friends and family.
With a high of 12 degrees, the National Weather Service said, “Residents can expect wind gusts up to 20 mph, which is going to make it feel like the weather is negative three degrees.”
“If you are out and about and need to travel,” said Nebraska Region 11 Emergency Management emergency. “Make sure to pack and have an emergency kit on hand or in your car. This can involve anything from a first aid kit, flashlight, gloves, a coat, jumper cables, blanket, or food.
The National Weather Service said, “The Severe Weather conditions are expected until 11:00 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 12."
