Lincoln teacher arrested for alleged child abuse on three elementary school children

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A teacher in Nebraska's metro area has been arrested for child abuse.
The Lincoln Police Department said that 43-year-old Hilary Everett was arrested Tuesday in a felony child abuse investigation that involved three local children.
A report was made on Feb. 26 to the DHHS Hotline alleging that child abuse was happening at Beattie Elementary School, and had been since December 2024.
LPD was then notified about the situation, and they started an investigation.
The Police Department said the three victims were ages five, six, and seven. Two of the children are non-verbal.
The allegations said Everett put hand sanitizer in their mouths and bleach water on their hands; she guided a child by squeezing their ear; and slapping a child on the back of their head.
Everett has been arrested on probable cause. She was taken into custody and has been booked at Lancaster County Jail for felony child abuse.
