Late game trouble dooms Beatrice, Orangemen fall to Ralston 14-12

BEATRICE, Neb. - Orangemen baseball found themselves on the wrong end of a roller coaster contest for the second straight night.
Beatrice fell to Ralston 14-12 on Tuesday evening, despite jumping out to a 6-0 lead the end of the first - a lead that grew to 8-0 and 9-2. However, nine runs by the Rams in the top of the fifth, and 14 runs in the final three innings led to a third straight loss for the Orangemen.
Austin Baldwin got the start for Beatrice tossing three innings allowing two unearned runs on no hits while striking out six. Despite not having a hit until the fifth, Ralston's rally would be too much for Beatrice to over come. On offense, Beatrice was led by Kale Koch who went 2-3 with two RBI.
With the loss, Beatrice drops their third in a row to start the year 1-3. Beatrice visits Lincoln Northwest on Friday.
