KIMBALL, Neb. – A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 7:45 p.m. for northern Kimball County and western Banner County, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

As of 7:28 p.m., the storm was located 10 miles north of Kimball and moving northeast at 35 miles per hour. Radar indicates the storm is producing quarter-size hail, which may cause damage to vehicles and outdoor property.

Communities in the storm’s path include Kimball, Harrisburg, Bushnell, Oliver Reservoir, the Oliver Reservoir Campground and the Kimball County Fairgrounds.

Residents in the affected area are advised to seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building until the warning expires.
