IMPERIAL, Neb. – A Chase County man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and attempting to force her into his vehicle at gunpoint on Friday night, according to the Chase County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the incident occurred on April 11 in rural Chase County, where deputies responded to a report of an active assault involving a firearm. The caller reported that a male subject was attempting to make a woman enter a gold-colored Jeep Cherokee without license plates at gunpoint.

A sheriff deputy conducted a felony stop on the vehicle as it attempted to leave the scene. The driver, identified as Christopher Weiss of Imperial, was detained without incident.

Through the investigation, deputies determined Weiss had brandished a firearm, made threats, assaulted the female victim and tried to force her to leave with him in his Jeep.

Weiss was arrested and booked into the Chase County Jail on the following charges: Domestic Assault, Terroristic Threats, Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony False Imprisonment, First Degree

His bond was set at $500,000 (10%), and he remains in custody as of Saturday.
