NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 44-year-old man is in custody facing accusations of meth possession and resisting arrest.

Norfolk Police say they were called to a home on S. 10th Street after 44-year-old Norman Ironthunder was spotted there. Ironthunder had an active Madison County arrest warrant, according to Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer.

Bauer said as officers approached Ironthunder, he ran and discarded a glass pipe from his pocket. As officers attempted to handcuff him, Bauer said, he allegedly struggled with the officers.

According to Bauer, officers recovered the pipe, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

Ironthunder was arrested on four Madison County arrest warrants, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
