Northeast Nebraska Motorsports Hall of Fame showing off old cars
NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Nebraska Motorsports Hall of Fame is showing off some of their rides.
The committee is hosting a special showing of their Hall of Fame racing exhibit at the Elkhorn Valley Museum.
This, before the Hall of Fame inducts their third Hall of Fame class. The class will be made up of five members from around the community.
President Troy Weyhrich talks about the work they put in to bring the exhibit together.
“Our board went to work and we found some great artifacts that kind of show a lot about the guys already in, and also some other area legends in our area,” Weyrich said. “So we are really proud of how it came together and there is some stuff that is as old as the late 60’s all the way through probably maybe 10 years ago.”
The cars date all the way back to the 1960s. Vice President Larry Hockemeier talks about the restoration the vehicles have gone through.
“There’s a lot of work that has went into it,” Hockemeier said. “It might be a little bit fancier than it was back in the day, but it is really close and it’s a really neat piece.”
The newest Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Oct. 12. You can visit this exhibit at the Elkhorn Valley Museum. It will be available until the end of the month.
