GOTHENBURG - Gothenburg capitalized on strong early showings, including a 38-second pin by Brigham Ricley over Brayton Fulton at 113 pounds and a 13-8 decision by Lucas Therrien over Kaine Hill at 120 pounds, and the Swedes wrestling team defeated Sidney, 57-24, Friday night in Gothenburg. 

Gothenburg extended their lead with falls from Carter Kincheloe (132), Christopher Flores (138), Maddox Gilligan (144) and Carson Reiman (150).

Sidney's wins were highlighted by Drayton Wright’s first-period pin over Gabe Hagan at 126 pounds and Owen Gillham’s fall at 157 pounds against Kai Carter. Zech Roggasch (190) and Patrick McCartney (215) added to the Red Raiders' tally with pins.

Sidney competes at the Cozad Invite on Saturday.
