NORFOLK - The Norfolk Catholic Knights boys (2-4) secured their second victory of the season, thanks to big threes and some rabid rebounding, in a 78-64 win over Boone Central/Newman Grove (1-4) Friday night.

The Knights' Jackson Clausen led all scorers with 17, while three of his teammates (Preston Burbach, Alex Lammers and Brennen Kelley) all finished in double figures. NC drained twelve 3-pointers on the night, including two apiece from Burbach and freshman Mason Timmerman, who came off the bench to ignite a late Knights run with two big shots from downtown.

Boone Central/Newman Grove hung tough for 3 quarters, cutting the deficit from 12 points to five early in the 4th period. Ryan Kramer led the way for the Cardinals with 13 points, and Logan Hodges and Carsten Bird also finished in double digits.

But the big threes from Timmerman sparked a Knights run early in the final stanza, and second-chance shots for Norfolk Catholic helped them pull away for a 14-point victory.

Next up for the Knights is a home game against Winnebago on Jan. 3, while BCNG is on the road that night vs Kearney Catholic.
