NORFOLK, Neb. - Memorial Day weekend is opening day for a summer attraction in northeast Nebraska.

Memorial AquaVenture Waterpark in Norfolk is opening its gates at full capacity this year.

Aquatic manager PJ Evans is happy to have some normalcy again.

"This summer we're hoping that everything stays the way it's going with COVID-19 and everything," Evans said. "We plan on opening regular and have group swimming lessons and group passes."

Despite full capacity, there will still be some safety measures taken.

The park will continue to sanitize tubes after every use, as well as cleaning pool equipment and life jackets.

Evans says she wants everyone to be comfortable and is hoping people are just as excited as she is to open up the park.
