OPD hosting guns, fireworks, ammo amnesty day next week

Anyone looking to get rid of guns, ammunition and fireworks -- legal or otherwise -- has a chance to do so next week.

Anyone looking to get rid of guns, ammunition and fireworks -- legal or otherwise -- has a chance to do so next week.

The Omaha Police Department will host a fireworks and gun amnesty day on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be multiple locations: Seymour Smith Park at 72nd and Harrison Street and Omaha Fire Station 43 at 103rd and Fort Street.

Omaha Police says citizens may drop off fireworks, ammunition, and guns, no questions asked.
