Petersen announces candidacy for NPPD Board of Directors

A Norfolk native has announced his candidacy for the Nebraska Public Power District Board of Directors.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A Norfolk native has announced his candidacy for the Nebraska Public Power District Board of Directors.

Dirk Petersen announced the decision Wednesday. He would represent NPPD Subdivision 10, which includes Madison, Stanton and parts of Antelope and Pierce Counties.

Petersen said he has experience working with NPPD during his career at Nucor Steel, where he most recently served as vice president and general at the Nucor Bar Mill in Norfolk from 2008 through 2017.

Since retirement, Petersen has been involved with the Norfolk Downtown Revitalization.

Petersen is also partner-owner in Flood Communications in Beatrice in Omaha.

Flood Communications owns and operates News Channel Nebraska.
