WISNER, Neb. – A unique project brought together kindergartners and high schoolers at Wisner-Pilger.

The high school’s family and consumer sciences students created a project in which kindergartners would color a snowman and create a backstory for the snowman, including giving it a name and several interests.

Each kindergartner was then paired with a high schooler.

The high schoolers then sewed a real-life version of the snowman that they could give to the kindergartner. The school recorded a presentation with each pair and gave a copy to both the kindergartner and the high schooler.

Teacher Marci Ludwig said the FCS classes had done holiday sewing projects before, but she thought it would “add a little more purpose” to the project by creating snowmen born from the kindergartners’ ideas.

“We felt like it went really well, and the snowmen turned out cute,” Ludwig said.
