Two people cited following accident near Stanton

On Sunday, law enforcement in northeast Nebraska responded to an accident where they cited both drivers.

STANTON, Neb. -- On Sunday, law enforcement in northeast Nebraska responded to an accident where they cited both drivers.

Around 5:18 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff's Office went to and investigated a two-vehicle accident at Highway 275 and Highway 57, Spurville, north of Stanton.

The accident happened when an SUV heading west, driven by a 56-year-old Stanton woman, turned in front of another SUV, driven by 34-year-old Clearwater man, was t-boned. 

The Sheriff's Office said the woman was treated at the scene by EMS, but going to the hospital. She was cited for failure to yield right of way. 

The Clearwater man was found to have a suspended driver's license, and he was cited for driving under suspension. 

Seatbelts and airbags were used and deployed in the collision and prevented serious injuries. 

Stanton and Pilger Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
