A person died early Saturday when a car crashed into a home in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — A person died early Saturday when a car crashed into a home in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Police said the crash occurred about 12:15 a.m. Saturday along State Avenue.

A passenger in the car was ejected and died at the scene. The driver was extricated and treated at a hospital for serious injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined the car was speeding when the driver lost control and the vehicle went off the road and hit the house, police said.
