Sheriff’s Office receives 'thanks' from Stanton first graders

Monday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office received a surprise visit from the Stanton First Graders and their teachers.

STANTON, Neb. -- Monday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office received a surprise visit from the Stanton First Graders and their teachers.

They brought letters of "thanks" from each student in conjunction with National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day that took place over the weekend.

The students were greeted by Sheriff Mike Unger, and they got a quick visit of the Sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Unger told the students, “You are the reason we do this job,” as he thanked them for their thoughtfulness.
