Trailer home destroyed in Tuesday night fire in Norfolk

No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A trailer home was completely destroyed in a Tuesday night fire in northeast Nebraska.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the Norfolk Fire Division was dispatched to 914 S. 14th Street in response to a fire on the porch of the residence.

First arriving apparatus found a trailer house fully engulfed in fire and quickly trying to spread to nearby vehicles and a camper.

According to Capt. Landon Grothe, he fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Salvage and overhaul operations were completed overnight, but the investigation is still ongoing. The trailer house was a total loss.

One engine, one aerial apparatus, and one ambulance responded to the scene with nine firefighters and were assisted by 18 off duty personnel.

The Norfolk Fire Department was assisted by the Norfolk Police Department, Norfolk Water Department, Blackhills Energy, Nebraska Public Power District, and the Red Cross.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
