NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska man suspected of passing counterfeit bills at a Norfolk business has been arrested.

On the evening of February 1, Norfolk Police were called to a business in the 1300 block of Ta Ha Zouka Road for reports of someone attempting to pass counterfeit bills.

Business employees explained that a man attempted to purchase four lottery scratch tickets with a counterfeit $20 bill but the transaction was not
completed due to the employee suspecting that the bill was counterfeit.

The employee provided a description of the suspect as well a vehicle description and license plate number. The employee had kept the reportedly counterfeit $20 bill and turned it over to the officer.

About an hour later, officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop on it. The driver did not match the description of the suspect. During this contact, the suspect was identified as Kash R. Wolff, 29, of Norfolk.

Officers watched the surveillance video from the business and confirmed that Wolff was the suspected individual who attempted to pass the counterfeit money.

On Tuesday, March 1, an officer located Wolff and attempted to place him under arrest.

According to NPD, Wolff attempted to run from the officers but was quickly caught and taken into custody.

He was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument and obstructing a peace officer. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
