Norfolk pair arrested on multiple charges after traffic stop
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Two arrests were made in northeast Nebraska after police reportedly uncovered a meth pipe and marijuana during a traffic stop.
At 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, a Norfolk Police officer stopped a vehicle for expired plates, according to Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer.
As the officer approached the car, he reported seeing the passenger, 38-year-old Kimberly J. McGrew of Norfolk, stuffing a bag of marijuana into a Styrofoam food container. Officers also reported smelling the odor of marijuana coming from the car, which was driven by 46-year-old Jeremy W. Rood of Norfolk.
A check of Rood’s license showed that it was currently revoked. McGrew had two active arrest warrants. Both were taken into custody. In a subsequent search, officers recovered the marijuana along with a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Rood was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving during revocation. He was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and fictitious license plates.
McGrew was arrested on the two Madison County warrants (theft and failure to appear) and possession of a controlled substance. She was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
