NORFOLK, Neb. -- Multiple meth-related arrests were made by Norfolk Police over the weekend.

On Friday morning, NPD officers were called to the area of the Sunset Plaza Mall regarding people living in a tent near trees east of the Target store.

Officers made contact with a 42-year-old homeless man, later discovering that there was an active Antelope County arrest warrant for him for the offense of resisting arrest. He was then taken into custody.

In a subsequent search, officers recovered two small baggies of methamphetamine from his coat. He was also then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

A day later, Norfolk Police responded to a call in the 600 block of S. 1st Street and
had contact with a 34-year-old Lincoln woman. NPD did not confirm the nature of the initial call.

A check of her record showed that there was an active Lancaster County arrest warrant for her, and she was arrested. In the ensuing search, officers recovered a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine. She was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects were housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
